Hope for 2021!

Well its fair to say 2020 was a mad year for everyone. I hope you’re safe and well whilst reading this. For me it was ever changing with planned work having to be shelved until further notice, like performing my new solo show at the New Zealand Comedy Festival and recording my first hour comedy feature show on Next Up Comedy channel. Although sad about not being able to do either a lot happened that wasn’t planned. Theres that great saying, when one door closes another opens!

For the first time ever the F1 Esports Virtual Grand Prix Series was created with Gfinity which I hosted on Sky Sports Main Event. Formula 1 revealed in June that it drew a record breaking 30million views across TV and Digital platforms. Many esteemed sporting stars such as Stuard Broad, Ben Stokes, Sergio Aguero and Sir Chris Hoy competed; amongst 10 actual F1 drivers. Exciting times ahead as it will be returning for 2021 at the end of January for three event days.

Gfinity continued to work with me as we created the Betway eCricket Challenge which brought together the best cricketers in the world together to compete head to head. I also hosted on the Red Bull League of Legends Worlds 2020 Finals and worked with Cadburys on the Cadburys Heroes League combining celebs and Street Fighter. All are available to watch back on youtube.

The boom of Sim Racing led to me working for Overtake.gg  where I am one of the hosts of the show. It began for me in my lounge hosting their show Nitro Nights which when allowed, I was able to record at their studio in Berlin. This project will continue for 2021, remotely to begin with and then back to the studio when travel restrictions ease.

I hosted the Celebrity Esports NHS charities together competition with Ben Shephard and Chris Kamara which led to a creation of the Celebrity Esports Series which will be announced this year. Watch this space!

I continued to work with Southampton FC hosting their Isolate Inn with Kingfisher, interviewing legends who have worn the team colours and interviewing their current team for SURE Deodorant.

As for Stand up comedy, apart from performing outside at various places during the year, most comedy moved online. I was delighted to be a permanent fixture for NICE N’ SPIKEY comedy who created many events that I hosted. For the time being thats where comedy will live and i’m glad to say I will continue to perform, bringing joy and laughter where I can.

Here’s to 2021, anything can happen as we know, but i’m ready for the challenge.
